It influences how quickly your commands arrive at the PC. Way more important for the mouse’s accuracy is the so-called polling rate. Depending on your taste, a resolution between 2,000 and 4,000 DPI is more than sufficient for gaming – everything more is nonsense. This is counterproductive for precise controls. So more is better? No, because in practice, a higher number doesn’t mean more precision! On the contrary, if you set the resolution to about 16,000 DPI, a slight jerk of the mouse is enough to turn you around. The higher the DPI, the more accurate the optical sensor. Speaking of resolution: manufacturers like to advertise with high DPI rates - DPI stands for “dots per inch”. More DPI doesn’t mean a better gaming mice In this way, you can run around using 1,600 DPI and press the sniper button every time you need to better aim at someone or something. Also useful is the “Sniper button” that temporarily shifts the sensor’s resolution to a more manageable number (from 400 to 800). All these buttons must be responsive and give tactile feedback. What else? In addition to the two main buttons and the scroll wheel, it must have at least two thumb buttons (Back and Forth) which can be reprogrammed to do something else. And although you push the mouse only a few inches away, the Teflon feet on the underside slide for more than 200 miles across the desk during this same period! Sniper buttonĪ gaming mouse must, therefore, be robust. Gamers put these small input devices through hell: If you play three or four times a week, you can press the main buttons of a mouse up to ten million times within three to four years. So use that! 10 million clicks, 200 miles In competitive play, even a fraction of a second can be a decisive factor. Your hand will get used to performing the same movements over time! Movements that have been repeated more than a thousand times are internalized by the brain and will happen faster. Sure, the better the tool, the easier the work, but what else is important? Which one is the right gaming mouse for you? Let’s start with what matters most… Constant settings: the brain plays withīuying the latest and greatest gaming mouse that costs an arm and a leg won’t make you a better gamer. There are big and small some with just a few buttons other with many more, and the most advanced ones are also wireless. The problem is that are hundreds of these plastic rodents to choose from.

The Huano version is for gorilla fingers.Changing direction, shifting between weapons, pulling the trigger: A precise gaming mouse is the most important tool for a PC gamer. The Kailh and Omron versions are safe recommendations.

Over 60 I’d also look at the G pro wireless and the G pro X superlight.ĭucky Feather if you need left handed side buttons and the GPW is too much. The G502 is good for anchoring boats and bludgeoning home intruders to death.

The G603 is alright with this mod but really needs further weight relief if you don’t like bricks. The G305 is really good when used with lithium AAAs(not Li-ion or Li-Po) in an adapter to reduce weight.
The Logitech G403 is alright when paracord modded, still slightly heavy though. A quick soldering job with new switches compensates for their corporate negligence.

Logitech has switch issues that they refuse to fix in either software or hardware, which can lead to doubleclicking after a while. The Burst pro has optical switches which are heavy and super bassy and can annoy normies. Vaxee and Roccat have the best QC IME, not that any company is exempt from mistakes. A lot of people hate the coating on the glossy version of the NP01 and sand it down for some reason. Clicks are heavy and the scroll wheel is really defined and loud. Vaxee was founded by the old Zowie design team so they’re really good. I hate Razer for political/privacy reasons. Any Glorious works if you get lucky with their trash QC
